Dr. Rick Lindal

How long will therapy take?

Most clients will find initial relief during the first 12 weeks of individual psychotherapy and some will decide to discontinue during that time.  Others may have more deep-seated problems, or may wish to resolve their problems more completely, and choose to continue psychotherapy for longer periods of time.  In couple therapy, most clients will find relief after attending therapy on a bi-weekly basis for a period of 2 to 4 months.

I encourage you to phone for an initial appointment.  This will allow me to assess your situation thoroughly and to give an opinion about a suggested course of therapy.  It will also give you an opportunity to meet with me and decide whether you feel comfortable with talking to me about your problems.

Who are my clients?

My clients are predominantly adults.  I also see young adults, age 16 and up.  The majority of people who come to see me are either feeling depressed or anxious.  You may be feeling lonely, suffering from low-self esteem, feeling frustrated and angry, experiencing phobias, feeling obsessive and compulsive, or simply feeling that your life has become meaningless.

Your psychological state of mind may be due to a variety of circumstances, including:

How much will it cost?

My services are not covered by OHIP.  The Ontario Psychological Association Recommends that psychologists charge a fee of $225 per hour. However, my fee is normally $200 per hour. No HST.

Check your workplace insurance coverage, as all of the costs may be covered.  Your Insurance company will usually cover psychotherapy fees, if you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident.  Clients injured at work will usually be covered by the Workers’ Compensation Board.
